For most people, finding figurative language is difficult.  On this site, you can take practice tests to increase your ability to find figurative language in a text.

Grammar is an essential element for successfully writing anything.  This site gives everyone the ability to practice grammar to increase our skills.

Reading is key to improving English skills.  HG Wells is a master of science fiction writing.  Download and read any of the stories from this website and pick find the:

1. protagonist
2. antogonist
3. setting
4. major conflict
5. climax
6. resolution
7. tone (for each chapter)
8. purpose for writing the novel
9. main idea
10. theme (any message about how we should live).

To hone skills, use SAT practice often.

Practice Vocabulary --write down the words you do not know, define them, put part of speech, and write a sentence showing meaning.  To extend this, write a creative story using at least 10 of the words you missed.
